Manulife Investment Management and LAForum would like to invite you to join a seminar and lunch with Keith Balter, Director of Economic Research, Hancock Natural Resource Group (HNRG) and Kathryn Langridge, Head of Global Emerging Markets Equity.
Timberland and farmland assets have been used and tracked as components of institutional portfolios for over two decades, establishing a strong historical record of performance, low to moderate risk and favourable diversification characteristics. Keith will present how combining timber and farmland in a single strategy can provide diversification and attractive risk/return benefits in a well-diversified portfolio. Additionally, he will explain how HNRG utilises managed timber and agriculture assets to meet sustainability goals, while seeking enhanced portfolio performance.
Kathryn will discuss how the Emerging Market landscape has evolved significantly over the past few decades driven by demographic and economic changes. However Emerging Markets continue to feel the impact of trade tensions, a strong US dollar and overall market uncertainty. Nevertheless, Kathryn will outline how an investment approach focused on identifying the best quality companies who have proven business models and strategic management skill alongside strong engagement with ESG factors can lead to positive returns over the long term.
